SWAG4LIFE

SWAG is an acronym for Sexually Woke Advocates Ghana. This youth group is a major project DGG has initiated to interact with highschoolers and educate them on adolescent sexual and reproductive health related issues (matters concerning menstrual hygiene, safe sexual behavior, teenage pregnancy, among others). Although this is the main reason why DGG created SWAG4Life, DGG intends to equip these students with useful skills such as social skills, study skills, and assertiveness skills as well. The aim of this youth group is to train peer educators; adolescents who are change agents and can educate their peers on matters relating to their sexual health and make a positive impact on the lives of their peers. Hence the slogan, Become the Change!

Apart from the sexual education, DGG plans on creating a health center at schools that we work with. This health center will serve as a space where the DGG psychological counselling team will offer counselling services to both students and teachers. In our quest to educate the highschoolers, we intend to support their teachers through workshops that will offer training on effective teaching skills, stress management, and how to identify students with educational, physical, and mental health challenges.
